The name AAbyssinia was derived from the term Habesha (mixed, Tigre and “Amhara mainly) emigrants from the southwest-Asian peninsula of today’s Yemen. They settled admixed with the Aborigins of the northeastern Cushitic families like Agaw, Beeja, Saa’oo, etc, as they prefer to call themselves.
